If you're the slowest, maybe you should consider distance running? You can improve your endurance much more so then natural speed.

I don't know much about track, but I think your overall time in the competitions could be improved if you decided to run a little faster.

how old are you? you think it's a better idea to ask ATOT than your coach?

If you are sprinting, sprinting and excercises like squats will help you. Sprinting uses explosive muscle (like powerlifting, sprint), not the slow twitch (used for jogging/long distance). ANd of course ask your coach, thats what he gets paid to do.. From what I hear it takes a lot of work and dedication to become fast.

Eat white rice and steamed chicken breast, rent 'Chariots of fire' and if it doesn't still work, think about golf or Scrabble.

squats would do ya wonders. went from like second slowest in sprints to second fastest on soccer team in highschool because of squats and sprinting daily. another good calf exercise is to stand on a step with your heals hanging off so you can raise and lower your heels then go up on your tip toes then back down. that + weights in hands once you get used to it should help ya out.

another thing that helped me was getting a breathing routene down. i duno if that would help ya w/ sprints but it deff helped me with distance.
