Need tips for buying a jacket.

Hey guys can someone give me some tips for selecting a jacket? I'm out of school and working now so I'd like something I can wear to the office. Our office isn't really serious about dress code but I'd like something that's not really formal but not like the abercrombie and north face stuff I wore in college. Any suggestions for styles or fitting? Thanks in advance!

what kind of jacket are you looking for? What sort of climate do you live in? What sort of styles do you like?

I want to find another leather jacket just like the one I've had for the last 12 years but I am failing hard.

It's an Excelled brand jacket with "RN# : 20849" on a label but the only jacket I can find on Google with that is some Betty Boop graphic jacket with knit cuffs (mine has leather cuffs which clasp closed with snaps). I would call it a bomber jacket and, sure enough, the closest I can find on their site is "Pig Nappa Bomber with Quilted Liner Style 0190 RMP/BMP" but it doesn't have the flap that snaps over the zipper in cold wind. Even if it were close enough, I can't even find that one even with all that info and even though it's still currently listed on their site. The one I have also seems to have two collars with none of that fuzzy crap. The inner collar flips up to seal against your neck when it is zipped all the way up but is short enough that it does make you look like a 1980s reject and folds down with the other when unzipped. It also has a second set of open pockets on the front specifically for hand-warming, and an elastic bottom band.

It's my favorite jacket ever and it still gets compliments everywhere despite its age. I want to get another or one like it because my twin brother and I share this one.

He wants to fit in with the office, it's not just about what is a good jacket lol.

I don't have any advice for you though but hopefully others do, cheers 😀

If we're talking jackets for outside wearing then: peacoat, topcoat, Canada Goose Bomber (these look good with business casual or even business under for some reason).

If we're talking casual sport/suit jacket, get something that fits well. Two or three button, herringbone pattern or a solid blue, but no stripes.

Ah come on...you KNOW the OP would look absolutely SMASHING in one of these...

A sport coat is a great choice for a
option.

Leather is always good.

A sweater and layering as well.

In most offices, strolling in in a hoodie pegs you as the mail boy.

hi guys. what about fits? off the rack vs custom? or do I most likely need to buy something and have someone alter it?

Why don't you go to Macy and try the jackets you like and see how it fits your body.

Fit is king. What type of jacket are you looking for?

Or maybe ask trident for jacket advices.
