Ok I just got a rib eye steak, its been marinating in the fridge for a couple of hours..

my question is, what is the best way to cook it using the equipment that I have?

I have the following equipment:

Go with the grilling pan.

Though, usually when I cook steaks I just broil them, 5 minutes each side. Can't have a grill at my apt. complex.

I cook some Ribeye's on my stovetop Tefal and everyone says it's the best steak they have ever eaten ;)

You're from Virginia? That explains it. :p You haven't really had steak until you've had fresh corn-fed Kansas or Nebraska beef slow-cooked over a charcoal grill. ;)

I've heard of Almena. Up around Norton and Phillipsburg, right?
If I'm ever in Virginia, I'll give you a call. ;)

I will disagree with those who say steak cannot be cooked on the stove top. In fact it is only one of two ways I do it. Salt and pepper both sides and throw and throw it in a HOT cast iron pan (is this your "searing pan"?).

Don't touch it for 2 minutes or so, then flip it. Cook till done. If the steak is much more than an inch, finish it in a hot oven. Otherwise, this does it. Broiling = suck. George Forman ought to be shot.

That's all :D
