I need the best motherboard for gaming for a P4 2.4B Ghz Northwood 512K Socket 478 Processor 533MHz Processor Bus. I'm planning on getting a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard so onboard audio doesn't have to be good or even there. I just need some suggestions because I've been stuck on which card to get for a while. Thanks for the help. And for the record I would like one that uses the 850e chipset so I can use 1066 RDRAM when it becomes available unless you guys think that I should go with the 845. Last I would like a board that will work good for overclocking if I ever become a little less lazy and learn how to do it.

Asus P4B533 or P4S533 is likely the best one to suit your needs... but you will hear other opinions that's for sure.

The asus P4T533-c is a good board but you should wait for the P4t533 which supports the 32bit rdram.

No, RAMBUSt is suck. :)

ASUS boards are very good. Pricey, yes, but generally the quality control is high. You may have gotten a few boards from a bad run. Happens to the best of 'em :)

:)) You most definitely want the P4T533. It was just released a few days ago. A few resellers have it. Keep checking Pricewatch and wait until it get there. I'm waiting for it myself, but I'm not going to pay ripoff prices to the early resellers. I had ordered the P4T533C and I sent it back when I saw the P4T533 on the ASUS site. It's to die for.

There is a great review on the board here. Text

See the ASUS site also: Text and here:

ASUS is also supposed to be releasing a killer GeForce 4 Ti4200 card but I can't really find any info on the Asus site. :(

I think you are wrong there. Right now there is a major issue regarding the ABIT boards holding up. The ASUS P4T533 board is the fastest P4 board out there. Asus has won award after award for their boards. Combined with 32bit RAM, this board leaves ABIT in the dust.

:Q I saw it on one site for $288. They must be dreaming. I do about 3 Pricewatch searches a day for that board but all the comes up is the P4T533C, but I go through them all anyway because I figure I might find the P4t533 and tonight I did. NewEgg had it listed, for the price that you said. $190. I would really like to get it out of CA so I don't have to pay tax on it. :D NewEgg does have free shipping it said. They are taking names and will be sending emails out when they get it. But by that time I'm sure others will have it also. I put my name in anyway. I'm anxious to get going on my new machine.:D

BTW, I can't seem to bring up any Samsung 32bit memory on Pricewatch. If anybody sees some will you drop me a line. Thanks
