Those of us in tech support in my company are battling upper management to allow us to work from home via remote access software on days when there is inclement weather forecasted. We are a utility company and the powers that be insist that we continue to follow an archiac 'all hands on deck' mentality when the snow is coming, meaning that everyone has to physically report to a company work location. Of course this works fine for linemen and perhaps meter installers....but they cannot understand that tech support personnel need not be 'located' at a company site to manage servers, provide desktop support, etc. As a matter of fact....they risk losing our services if we are to attempt travel during a blizzard where we could be easily delayed or worse. With that said....i recall someone on one of the forums in their closing having some reference to morale being crushed or destroyed in the workplace by some idiotic workplace rule...you know..one of those italicized quotes that people use at the end of their posts.

Obviously this is a long shot...but i was hoping i could do a search on that part of a post, but so far have come up dry.....boy I would really love that quote to add to the closing of my company emails.

Add that quote to the closing of your company emails? Your father/wife/you own the company? You have pictures of the owner in a very compromising position? Otherwise, that's not a good idea.

Actually.....I seem to remember the quote as posted by one of the forum members and while not too offending....gently got the message across. That's the one i'm looking for. I have 33 years in my company...I'll take my chances.

Dwight: Why tip someone for a job I'm capable of doing myself? I can deliver food. I can drive a taxi. I can, and do, cut my own hair. I did, however, tip my urologist, because... I am unable to pulverize my own kidney stones.
