SETI Driver installer

I need people to test it on different OSes and make sure it works. It would probably be best if you didn't have SETI Driver running while testing it. I just got it to work fine in Win95A.

This isn't quite a final version, I need to change some text and maybe add a readme file or something.

Edit: Interesting, it won't let me DL the file for some reason. %$*&%$W% Adelphia. :|;) I'm gonna see if Orange Kid will host it.

Edit #2: He's hosting it. :)

I could give it a try when I get my new video card, probably at the end of the week.

I have tested it. It installs with no problems, auto-runs Seti Driver and uninstalls without problems.

Platform:

Pentium 3
Windows 2000 sp 1

If you need any more information, give me a shout :)

Is that the SUPERPIMP Nulssoft installer? How easy was it to configure? I would like to create an installer for SETI as a Service for Win95/98/ME and NT/2K/XP... :)

God no, it's not the Nullsoft one! :) Have you looked at that thing?! :Q It's a mess, you basically have to write a program to install it, and then it compiles the program and files into an install file. I'm sure you could do the service installs with it, but it'd be pretty hard I think.

Thanks Migroo! :)

Hey sukhoi, could you give us some more information on how this runs seti driver? does it act as a service install or put it in the startup folder? (if it does i think it could be useful for college)

Thanks

Alex :)

I'm not done with it yet. :)

All it does it copy the SETI Driver files over to the folder you specify, and run the program so you can configure it. No service install, and with the installer I'm using, I can't put a shortcut in the StartUp folder. :(

Do you want just a CLI service installer, or a SETI Driver service installer for 2K? Both exist, they just aren't pretty. :p Check my help thead (sig).

Worked for me just great! I just installed it on my 800 duron, running Win me. I would recomend something though. I would find a way to pre-sellect the client, and set the cache size so the user does not have to. We all have to remember that end-users are usually stupid.

Everyone on AnandTech ( almost anyway ) Is already smarter than the Devil Spawned End Users I know :)
