Hi,

I need a tablet. There must NOT be a keyboard with it. So pure hand writing.

It must be LIGHT. As light and as thin as possible.

Does not need to be powerful.

Looking for something less than 5K.

I second motion computing, as there aren't too many slate form factor tablet companies (though there is one company that converts macbook pro's to tablets if you are interested in OSX, the remove the keyboard). May I ask why slate and not convertible (as the x60 is a good option if a convertible is ok)?
 
"Less than 5K" means you could pretty much go to any manufacturer site and buy two for that. 😛

Again, why the insistence on slate-only and not a convertible? If it's for weight, consider a lighter single-spindle notebook.

it has to be slate since we have no use for keyboard as well we need it to be as small and as light as possible

the application is going to be something like startrek where everyone carries a pad around pushing buttons and writing....

Another nod for motion computing.

My company writes applications for tablets, they are very reliable, screens are fairly easy to read in direct sunlight, they're pretty tough too.

We buy them in the 14" and 7.5" models.
