need suggestions on neighbor problem

my apartment neighbors, below us, are making horrendous amounts of noise. they play their speakers like every other night at midnight and make our floor shake. the noise is like having speakers in the room. this is the second night we've called the cops; my neighbors wouldn't even answer the door for them. I've talked to management, earlier this week, and they said they would serve them via attorney, but obviously that didn't work. this is ridiculous. what do you guys suggest?

Keep complaining to you landlord. If they don't solve the problem check with your county auditor or court house. You can file a motion to hold your rent in escrow until the landlord solves the problem (assuming there is language in your contract that allows for 'quiet enjoyment').

Otherwise you are screwed.

They don't answer the door for the cops? It's called get the landlord over and the cops at the same time, and he opens the door for them. If they're breaking some noise ordinance they have no choice, they will be ticketed and they will pay, or spend some time in jail.

I called the police again a few minutes ago and just let the officer in. He said he is going to arrest him. I can hear them downstairs...

Yay it's quiet. Except in our bedroom, where we can hear one of the guys speaking in some language (they're from Africa).

We had neighbors like that. They were selling drugs & my wife told the apartment cop about it. They got arrested the next night & we haven't seen them since. I tried to talk to them & be nice but some people don't know how to be civil. Last I heard of them their family was picking up their stuff for them & I asked them what happened to them...lol

Yup. Just found out he has multiple warrants for his arrest and was recently kicked out of another apartment. Counts include drunk driving, noise problems, etc. Oye!

Guess what happened in our new apartment last night 😛 Stayed with my parents for the rest of the morning after calling the cops at 3:30am for domestic disturbance. Kids below us sounded like they were trying to kill each other. Time to find a house 🙁
