Thinking of extending my summer reading list(thats right, its summer down here in oz while you poor american sods are freezing your asses off) and need some suggestions for some profound or memorable books that you have read. Here are my suggestions for anyone who also needs something to read:
Must reads:
deep, profound books which, I think everybody needs to read at least once, highly recommend them to you.
Title Author
1984 George Orwell
The Outsider Albert Camus
I am David Anne Holm
Lord of the rings JRR Tolkien
John Brunners:
This authour deserves a category of his own, best author I have ever known but is, sadly, hard to find nowadays. Word of warning however, most of his novels are extremly hard to start since his writes with a very fragmented style but keep at it as you will be greatly rewarded.
Stand up on Zanzibar
The shockwave rider
The sheep look up
The crucible of time
The jagged orbit
Great books:
Books that you should read when you get the chance
Nine tomorrows Isaac Asimov
2001: A space odyssey Arthur C Clarke
Various Rohl Dahl
Neuromancer William Gibson
The once and future king TH White
Time wasters:
Books that will whittle away a plesurable couple of hours
Tom Clancy series
Brian Jaques series (Redwall)
Terry Pratchett series (Discworld)
Asimov series (Foundation)
David Gemmell series
BTW: PM me if you have read any of these and want to discuss them, I am open to any comments suggestions or interpretations of them
edit: something screwy is happening with the spaces so I can't get the coloumns for title and authour lined up
