Looking for a cleaner for my wheel wells and inside of the rims. You know, the places where the most stuff builds up. I think they use degreasers at shops, but I don't know for sure. I have everything else lined up for washing and detailing but always had stuff missing to clean those gunky areas. Thanks!

You can wash the wheels with dawn dishsoap. Same for wheel wells. If you want something special, Meguiars All purpose cleaner is pretty good I hear.

Mothers makes some pretty good wheel cleaning spray. I think it's called 'All Wheel Cleaner' or something like that. I pick it up at the local auto parts store.

I was thinking more of an all purpose cleaner that can be used for the under side of the car too.

I definitely do NOT recommend the Meguiars wheel cleaner - it appears to do nothing to remove brake dust in my experience.

Dawn dish soap in hot water and a toilet brush, for the nasty stuff.

Wheel cleaner does a marginal job at best. Apply wheel wax afterward to help dust from building up

I just bought some simple green and am going to do a 50/50 mix with water. Gonna spray it on and use a sponge for the wheel wells.

Meguiars has a few wheel products, some work, some do not. I like Hot Rims. It's the best OTC product I have found.

Not a whole lot you are going to do for the inside of your rims short of pulling the rims and cleaning every week.

What is the point? Now the outsides rims....yes

I was just wondering if there was a cleaning product that would clean areas like the wheel wells and inside the rims. I'm not going to take off my wheels to clean, but something that takes off some of the excess dirt would be good as you can see dirt if it's sitting on the inside of my wheels. I'm more focused on my wheel wells though (underside of car that covers the wheels).

I usually use tire shine on the wheel well splash shield, It's plastic so works fairly well. I usr one of those small sponges to do the tires, elimanates any problems with overspray. After all the tires are done I'll use the sponge on the splash shields..
