Alright, need to improve points per day ( PPD ) currently I have i7 930 D0 stepping with GeForce GT220 card.

Option # 1 buy I7 4770K pair it up with GTX 950's or 960's ( 980 TI is too spendy for my blood )

Option # 2 keep my i7 930 setup and just buy 2 x GTX's cards and call it a day ?

You should ask this question in our Distributed Computing sub-forum. They would be the most expert to answer.

Is your goal F@H? I think AMD GPUs currently lead for that. A GT220 is way weak, I think that the i7 930 would outrun it.

I don't get the idea of the "MQ" CPU. That's a "Mobile Quad". Are you planning on getting a gaming laptop with that CPU pre-installed?

I messed it up, I edited the CPU model. and ok thank you for telling me about computing sub forum, I will check it out right now.

Have you considered getting a 32nm Westmere Xeon hex-core, and overclocking it, on your 1366 board? There's a few threads in the CPUs and Overclocking forum about that that might interest you.

For an application that is pure multi-threaded (MT) load, a hex-core 1366 may be faster than a quad-core 1150.
