I want to be able to play music thats on my PC from a receiver in my living room. I have been looking at a few Yamaha models. One is wireless (Yamaha RX-N600) but i have read that alot of people say to not go wireless. Any suggestions on receiver models that are going to be good for this use and home theater? Any suggestions are appreciated!!
Thanks!!

I am not 100% sure, I have been looking at how you can use a media receiver to access files via your TV with a remote control or play music through a regular receiver that is connected to your PC. I haven't ran into anyone who has eihter of these setups. Wondering which is better? From what I have read, all of the media sharing routers(receivers) don't do a very good job. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!!!!

You're looking for a receiver with this capability built-in? How much money are you looking to spend?

Do you have protected music from stores such as iTunes that you want to stream?

Well, after looking at several models this weekend I am probably not going to go with a reciever built for this. Too much $! I have been looking at a media router.

I have been looking at this one in paticular, Pinnacle Showcenter 200

So far the ratings I have read are pretty good. And a hell of alot cheaper!!!!!!

Did you look at the Rokus Soundbridge? Is that what you are looking for?

If you wanted to go a little further with the setup you could use an XBOX 360 and install windows media center.

This would allow you to control and play music, video and watch/record tv as well as play dvds and games if that is your thing.

you will have access to playlists as well.

just a thought.

Sorry, forgot to mention, but yes I did look at it. If I go with just audio this looks like the best out there. I am debating wether or not I want access to just music or all media? Know anyone that has a media receiver? If so do they like it? Thanks!!!!

I said xbox, not 360 :)

anyway, you first have to figure out exactly what you are trying to do then research the possible hardware.
