i'm thinking it's about time to upgrade :)

i'm thinking of going with the amd xp 1600+ (from newegg.com or gameve.com)
256 megs samsung pc2700 ram
hs/f
and a motherboard...

that's all i need for my system...

the only board that i know something about is the msi kt3 ultra-2 which seems to be getting great reviews...

however, i would like a board with agp 8x support and usb 2.0 support...

the kt4vl seems to have both.. but dunno how good of a board it is including o/cing options...

can anyone suggest a board with agp 8x and usb 2.0 or tell me anything about the msi kt4vl?

Best board I have seen for the most part is the Epox EP-8K9A2+. It has AGP8, serial ata, raid, 6ch sound, Lan, USB 2.0, and should overclock quite well if thats your thing(might be able to get that 1600+ to 166FSB).

It goes for around $125 shipped, great all round board.

Shimmishim,

I'd order the 1600+ from Gameve realy soon. I just ordered one two days ago, then the 2nd one yesterday and the price went up $2. Their inventory of AGOIA cores are almost gone. NewEgg would not garrenty shipping out the AGOIA cores.

good luck

PS - post what hs/f your going with - I'm still on the fence about this component.

I will save for for Nforce2. (just a few more weeks, heard Asus will be there next week or so. Others will follow)
