I have been out of college for over a year now and work fulltime as a software engineer. This job is not hard and very rarely I find myself put in more than 45hr/week. I don't have any other obligations so was just wondering where would be a good place to get a second weekend only job? I can only think of UPS. I would rather not do fastfood 🙂 jobs and software consultant jobs(part time) are kinda hard to find.

oh also what kind of tax implications will the second job have?

thanks.

Another vote for UPS.

Decent amount of hours, 4 hours a day.

Decent pay, around $9 an hour.

Decent work out, for free 😀

UPS also gives free benefits to part time employees - What other company does that?

A co-worker of mine (we're software engineers too) got a job as a stock boy at Sears on the weekend.

I thought about this too. If I was still single and not dating anyone, i would consider being a bouncer. It's a great wayto meet chicks and you make $BLING$ at hte same time. Discounted drinks when off duty, etc....

cool...will go check out UPS next week. This might help me get my new Audi A4 🙂.

If hte reason you are getting a second job is to buy a new car, you should find a cheaper car!

I could do that but why? There are times when I get bored out of my mind cause most of my friends are busy with work and don't exactly have dates everyday of the weekend. So instead of sitting on my ass the whole weekend I could be getting some extra cash for a better car.

Another vote for UPS, if you don't mind real physical labor. I work there in the evenings after my full time job. Free benefits, decent pay for a second job, if you stick with the long haul your pay becomes great ($23-$27/hr for drivers), but the jobs still sucks and not fulfulling. Hours vary from ~6-9pm(my shift), ~9pm-1 or 3am, ~3am-8pm, it depends on your local hub. I am getting a free turkey for thanksgiving, maybe a christmas bonus, but i doubt it. Supervisors are asses though

EDIT: Check out the UPS website under employment opportunities, they will have listings iof the hubs near you and you can fill out an application there.
