Need suggestions for a new grill

I'm still using my cheap char-broil grill which I bought for my first apartment in college. Now that I've got my own house, I'm looking for a new grill.

I've looked at the charmbroil from Home Depot for $299 which got a good review from bbq.about.com here.

I've also looked at Kenmore's from sears, 2 weeks about it was on sale for $299, but now it's going for $329
Kenmore grill @ sears.com

I can't quite afford weber grills yet (maybe next time), are there any other suggestions for gas grills around $300?

save a little more and get a weber genesis A.

Do you have one from Home Depot? I was wondering if the special edition they sell at Home Depot (it has a different cooking grill, I guess) is worth it as opposed to buying one from somewhere else.

I'll 2nd the save for a Weber option, we have a Weber gas grill, and it makes steaks and burgers like no other 🙂

So it seems like everyone here to feel that weber is the best. Am I just paying for the name or are weber grills really that much better?

The only grill review site I could find (bbq.about.com) says that the genesis A grill is under powered. Is this under powered compared to other weber grills or grills in general? I'll be cooking burgers and chicken mostly and occasionally steak and fish rarely (fiance hates seafood), will I notice the "lack of power" when cooking burgers?

I could probably convince my fiance to up my budget to $399 (it was her idea to get a new grill in the first place), but I want to make sure that I'm getting the best value for my money instead of just paying for the weber name.

Do you have a costco membership?

They got a massive SS grill there for $299. beats anything I've seen less than $500 at HOMEDEPOT

What do you think? I mean how complicated is it to make a device that hooks up to a tank and has chambers for gas to flow, or even more basic just a rack for coals. Marketing at it's finest ...

BTW "Standard" paper clips own "SCM" paper clips:disgust::roll::laugh:

Just g3et teh round grill... good charcoal. You are set.

I prefer to get home from work, push a button and be ready to grill in 5 min. I don't want to take the time to light the coals and wait for them to get hot.

I think the taste difference is well worth it.

I agree. Charcoal is great and all, but too busy to deal with it.

Maybe when I'm retired... lol

Takes ~10 minutes to get charcoal ready. Just get a chimmney if you want it to get ready quick. (and a small grill so you don't need to heat all that much up)
