Well, in that case, you DON"T want to diversify.
In this case you need to take on a LOT of risk.
Buy stock options if that is allowed.
If not, but a single volitol stock.
Try NVDA, they are around 55 now, but I bet they get back to 70 in a few weeks.

hard to say, see your doing regular stocks.. if you do arb like risk arb or pairs, you can make on spread.. ie short nvda long ati, capture the spread.. also like long intel , short amd or vise versa... hard to say...

the dow looks better than the nasdaq (tech) so far.. so I would probably put some there... but spread em out.. so...

It's a very, very, very tough call right now. The Nasdaq has been floundering below 2000 and the Dow hasn't really cleared 10 000 for Some Time.

I second the vote for nvidia; it's been doing poorly recently, but its trend is to bottom out then shoot up to around 70. Calling the bottom will be hard, so maybe give it another couple days and see where it goes.

I'll think of some more during class and get back to you when I return.

What I would do on those games, was buy the cheapest stock I could find, I would have 40000 shares of a $.25 stock. Then if that went up one cent I would be in the money. I won (overall in my class, not the overall like LA times game) once like this and lost once so it is a gamble.
