Need speaker advice.

I already have the Logitech z560 and Yamaha TSS-1 sets, but I need a nice portable set of speakers for when I travel with my computer. I only have about $40 to spend. I'm looking for a 2 or 3 piece set. What would you guys suggest? I was looking at the Benwin flat panel speakers. Does anyone have any experience with these? Any suggestions would be helpful.

I'm not sure if you're willing to do this or not but here's my $0.02 anyway....

Why not just take 2 sats and the sub from one of your 2 sets of speakers??? Is it the weight or do you have them set up in a certain manner in your house? For a LAN party? --> wouldn't be nice to show up with just half of your Z560s and know that you'll still pack enough punch to do whatever you want?

If not, I would recommend a nice pair of headphones.

I have the benwin ex-4a upgrade version, and personally i was really disappointed by it's sound quality. The base is rather weak, with frequency response hardly convering the low 50hz. And also, there seems to be no midrange, but that problem seems to plague almost all flat panel speakers. Right now, the technology really hasn't developed enough, so I'd stick with anything else.

If you travel alot and are not going to leave your computer set up for long periods of time, why not invest in a good set of headphones.
I can tell you that I don't like the extra bulk or setting up all the wires every time I go somewhere. And at lan parties you can hear the sound coming out of your speakers alone that way(get the enclosed ear type).
