I am having some sound problems with HL2 and wanted to upgrade the drivers for this integrated audio stuff. I can't find anything for my system, so if you can help, i'd appreciate it.

Those are the only SoundMax drivers I see for your model, sorry. If you suspect compatibility issues, I suggest switching to a PCI sound card.

SoundMAX is a computer "sound card" which has been built directly into the motherboard of the computer. It uses the computer's main processor rather than a separate processor on a separate sound card. This is often called "onboard audio" or "integrated audio."

SoundMAX does not provide drivers or software directly to computer users. To download drivers, you need to contact your computer maker (or motherboard maker if your computer was built from parts). The websites for these computer and motherboard makers are given below.

Why not provide drivers here? Each computer and motherboard maker below has a large number of different products which contain a version of SoundMAX. SoundMAX can be customized for each and every one of those products. Computer and motherboard makers prefer to manage what software and features to offer to their customers. Link

Adding an additional PCI card to that computer should be safe, and well within its operational specs.

Sound cards/integrated sound use very little power unless they have on-board power amps. Haven't seen that in a looooong time and even then they were only a watt or two per channel.
. And there are generic ADI sound drivers, you just have to look for them. In fact, the ones Asus supplies are pretty generic. Just pick one that matches the ADI chip your mobo is using.
The only reason ADI doesn't have them to DL on its site is so they don't get stuck with supporting them...

yeah, my asus mobo uses onboard soundmax. you can just get the drivers there although i'm not sure there are any newer than the 03' you have.
