I built the following around 11/09:
Q9300 2.5 GHz stock
ASUS P5Q LGA 775
Evga 512-p3-n975-ar 9800gt 512m
Corsair|cmpsu-650tx 650w rt
G.skill 2*2gb ddr2|gsk f2-6400cl5d-4gbpq r
WD 7k 16m wd6400aaks
LG blu-ray combo |ggc-h20lk
Vista ult sp1 64bit
Arctic p4|acfz7-pro r
SilverStone FT01-B
I am using this in my den and have it hooked up to my Rotel Processor via the s/pdif output on the motherboard.
I am having trouble with the s/pdif output keeping a good connection with the audio coax cable. At first, I thought my coax cable connector was too shallow, but that does not seem to be the issue.
Currently, I have the cable connector bent at a hard angle and wedged into place just to get audio out. If I move the pc, I have to fiddle and re-bend the cable connector and re-wedge it to get sound.
Not an ideal situation. I have tried several audio cables, so I do not think that they are the problem. I am guessing that problem rests with the motherboard and its connector.
Any recommendations for a sound card to use in connection with the audio coax cable would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
