K, I'll bite. While I wade through the quagmire that is MSN "support", I'll put out the feelers for a 678. Saw a couple on Ebay that I might put a bid on in a couple days.

Still trying to find somebody's keycodes that I can test *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*

Powers... fading....

Must... refrain... from calling... tech support...

(This is killing me. 2 months of supposed service and I've got 10 days of connection... The words "crock o' sh1t" come to mind.)

Another check to see if anybody else is runnin' MSN DSL through Qwest.

Trying to pick up a 678 on ebay from a guy that lives like 10 miles from me.

Why don't you guys go with a REAL isp and not that spamware-spyware-AOL-inpired garbage? My friend had MSN dialup from when he bought a computer last christmas and has had nothing but problems with it. He had to format his HD about twice and not once could he get connected back because you have to dial up to like 3 #s before you become registered. Not to mention it took 10 MINUTES to connect with it! My local isp takes at MOST 30 seconds! Why does it take so long? Cus it sux donkey balls! Its inferior! Why? a REAL isp only requires that you use dial up wizard and you just enter phone # and email pops and newsservers and boom you'r in! They say that these MSN,AOL kind of isp's are easier to connect--well they must have a low-iq to come up with that conclusion. So I convinced him to just let it go and get dsl and go with a local company that provides REAL internet. Now he connects at 1.5 meg and never has lag and is perfectly happy. With MSN, you would have to enter multiple passwords and access codes to just get initially connected. Why? Thats HARDER to connect than thru a regular isp that gives you superior service and not this laggy crap that calls itself an isp. Just my 2 cents worth.

error 691 is an authentification error -- the codes you are using are not valid -- can't help you with other key codes (living in belgium)

good luck

Missed out on the local pickup but I've got another lined up. Should have the 678 by the end of next week.

*mutter* Wanted to give myself the router as a birthday present today ;)

Got the 678... set it up... Can't connect, looks to be an authentication issue.

Convinced an MSN tech to test out another set of keycodes with me and got the same problem... authentication...

I'm at a loss.

i want a Cisco 678 modem/router now, the thing looks like it kicks @ss.

Let me know when you get it up to speed on your MSN dsl connection. I've got DSL coming to my house on the 14th, I've already got a Intel Pro 2100 in my comp now, and another Qwest dsl modem coming in the mail by the 14th...

looking at getting the Cisco 678 though, if you can get it running...

Having authentication troubles with the 678 as well. Everything I've tried has proved fruitless. I may end up selling the 678 to help pay some bills if you're looking for one. I hate the USB modem, but if it will keep me connected I can deal.

Waiting (yet again) for some word from MSN's NOC. I've tried everything under the sun and still no connection... Ugh.
