Need some user friendly automatic backup software

Have a notebook using a WD passport external drive and norton utilities for backup. I'd like to replace the norton utilities with a user friendly backup application that will automatically backup selected files and folders.

Any suggestions?

GFI Home Backup worked pretty well for me, although I just use Windows 7 built in backup now. It's totally free to use.

A warning about GFI. That is the backup SW i decided to use a couple months ago. Right off the bat, i made an encrypted backup of all user windows files. I discovered a couple nights ago that some files went missing so i tried to retrieve them from my GFI backup. Backup file is invalid. FFFUUUU...

Cliffs: if you use GFI dont use the encryption option.

Edit: Backed up all user files, not non-windows files.
