Hey JHutch, If you check my sig you will see a bunch of systems on different mobos with times for a "standard" WU. Maybe that will help.

TuffGuy: You must be getting a lot of VLAR WUs. I HATE them! For the past week I've been VLAR free!:D Some weeks they kill my average! Good luck with the Linux stuff. There has been a lot on here recently about bad experiences with it.

clarification:
6h25min - old total from my p166, p3-667, p3-700, p3-1000
4h15min - my new week old computer

it'll take a while to get my *total* average down... as for the VLAR units, the worst i've gotten is .413, which took about 4h30min. :)

I have a p3 550 not overclocked using the gui screensaver but it runs constantly in the backround and it is doing about 14 hours a WU with 256 megs of ram. Will use the ocmmand line version on it soon as I figure it out but too many other people get on it also to play q3 and stuff so the WU times maybe off a little.

Here is some SPARC times for SETI 3.03:
(SETI running at lowest priority `19' on production machines)

Ultra 10 - Sun UltraSPARC-IIi 333MHz 128MB RAM (Solaris 7) ~13hrs
SPARC 5 - SPARCstation-5 128MB RAM (Solaris 7) ~240hrs
E3500 - Sun UltraSPARC-II 400MHz 2GB RAM (Solaris 7) ~8hrs/CPU
(Can have up to 16 CPU's/machine)

:(:( *sniff*

I remember the days when PC's used to look at these times in awe.
(The Sparc5 is almost 15ys old!):Q

It'll still be worth changing.
I just got my 2nd in command to change one of his ships from GUI to SETIDriver(CLi).It's a PIII 500 @ 515, it was doing WU's in about 15 hrs ,the 1st handful of WU's from SETIDriver are around 11hrs :D.
Next to get him to change the other one......
