Hey I need some advice on a gaming rig. Right now my main pc is a 5900x with a rtx 3080. I use it for some video projects i do once in a while. I want to build a 2nd pc for gaming only. I want a second pc because it just easier to slide the chair over to see the status. The gaming pc will use my 240hz monitor. I prefer Intel since I can use the integrated gpu until i can get my hands on a rtx 3070. My question is should I grab a 10850k @Microcenter for $350 or should I get a 11600k for like $260(-$20 for the bundle discount)? Its only use is gaming and maybe watching twitch stream sometimes. Thoughts, suggestions?
Only games i play right now are fps like Fortnite, Resident Evil. No Cyberpunk.

Get yourself a dirt cheap 11400 and a H570 board, paired with some fast memory. Assuming you don't overclock you will get close to 11600K stock game performance anyway.

I wound up getting the 11600k and the Z590 AORUS ELITE AX. Quick question I know with a 11th gen cpu installed you can put a pcie 4 nvme in the first m.2 slot. Can I still put a Samsung 970 evo plus in that slot? (I know it wont run at pcie 4 speeds.) Or should I put the m.2 in one of the other m.2 slots?
