Need some SETI help...

I know there's a program you use with SETI when running it on a laptop that shuts down SETI when the laptop goes onto battery. Anyone know where I can find it plz?

Thanx! 😀

Can't you accomplish this by starting SETI as a scheduled task? Set it to start on bootup and set it to stop when battery mode begins. I don't know if it will restart it once you're off batteries though.

I don't know about other OS'es, but there's an advanced option that will stop the tasks when battery mode begins in XP.

I haven't really tested this, I just know it the battery option is there.

Are you sure that the battery shutdown program is for the classic one ... I think that the feature is built into the bonic version ...

Anyone think of searching this forum archives for information? 😉

This: SETIBUFFER

Was found mentioned in this thread of a similar inquiry:
Laptop & SETI

Although looking at the SETIBUFFER options, I didn't see anything that you specifically check to pause while on battery. I also didn't see anything specifcally in SETIHIDE that you set to pause while on battery.

But this could help too:

If you're running XP, there's an option in Task Scheduler tasks to do that. So just create a task that starts SETI at startup, and stops it if battery power starts.
