Need some SERIOUS legal help (cops/neighbors doing absurd things)

Josh

Lifer
Alright so here's the story; my mom calls me today telling me that a police officer visited the house yesterday and told her that I am involved in substance dealing/illegal activities. He said that the neighbors around the area have compiled a "presentation" so-to-speak with pictures and "eyewitnesses" claiming they saw me participate in such activities around my home. They claim that "random" cars have stopped by the house looking very "shady."

Here's my story; I don't participate in any of that crap and the "random" cars are my friends stopping by either to pick me up to go out or to see what I'm doing for the night. I don't have a vehicle or license so I don't see how it is odd at all for anyone to stop by MY house on MY property. The cops have made these rediculous claims before and I am through with them harrassing me, my parents and defaming my name and character. They have given my family a bad name in the town because of their nonsense claims with absoloutely no proof and it's getting to the point where my mom is breaking down because she's believing the crap they are spitting out to her.

I also don't think it's right (legal?) for my neighbors to be watching me and what goes on on my property let alone possibly take pictures. Isn't that absurd? Why can't they mind their own business? Oh, I forgot to mention this is a pretty wealthy, tight knit community...I believe they are just tired of a teenager around the area who isn't a perfect straight A student and are trying to harrass the hell out of us 'till the point where we must leave. Please help...

I am thinking of bringing a lawsuit against the police station and possibly my neighbors for harrasment and defamation of character. If anyone has been in a simliar situation or can offer me some advice as to what I should do, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

[edit] I feel they are just discriminating me because of my age and probably the people they see around my house, which is entirely wrong in my perspective of the law and they way people should act towards their neighbors.

Nice avatar.

But yeah... there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of. They can't do anything without proof.

Tell them if they have proof, to lock you up. Otherwise, tell them to leave you the hell alone before you file suit.

I'm thinking of calling the police station and telling them that if they aren't going to arrest me that I suggest they stop harrassing my family before I file a lawsuit against their entire force.

Last thing I would be doing is calling the police station and thretening them...

Do that through a lawyer... 🙂

Which is my point exactly. I have never before been arrested or involved with the police in any sort of troubling way and now because some teenagers who are GOOD friends of mine are stopping by my house every now and then they want to make it seem as if I'm some druglord of some small/extremely rich town.

I'm not saying the OP is doing anything wrong, heck I believe him that he is clean, but when you take this type of attitude in the area you live then that's when it goes down a hellhole quickly.

Ya threatening the police is not a good thing. Talk to a lawer.

Agreed. But, I couldn't afford to pay a lawyer just to make a phone call for me :\

i would suggest really pi$$ing off your neighbors. like if they are having guests at their house get a crappy lawn chair and a plastic pink flamingo and sit in your front yard in a wife beater and say things to their guests to embarass the neighbors. like "hey man, your wife is hot, i bet she is good in bed, do you have any daughters?"

This is true but the fact is that the neighbors are just making outrageous claims and one of them happens to be the commissioner of police in my town so the police are just listening to whatever they are saying.

One of my neighbors even throws parties almost every weeked for her at-home kitchen company, but you don't see me calling the cops and telling them shady cars stop by every weeekend? It's the same thing. They are just discriminating me because of my age and probably the people they see around my house.

Why not just contact a lawyer. See if you have a case, and if they would represent you. You could get a free consultation I imagine somewhere in your area. Your parents might be interested if you talk to them too. Tell them listen, I want this to stop, so can we seek some legal repercussions on our neighbors for this bs.

Just fix it, instead of threatening people hoping it will fix itself.

I agree that threatening the cops might not be the best idea.

This is somewhat parallel to all those cases you see on people's court where the neighbors are calling the police, child protective services etc on each other 24/7. If they have a case, I imagine you do too.

have you thought about just confronting your neighbors and letting them know whats going on? might be able to come to some mutual understanding. of course i dont know the caliber of people your dealing with.
