i've got a 'dead' laptop. it's a WinBook (?) with a p4-m 1.6, 512mb ram, 60gb sata hdd, and a dvd+-rw. the only problem the laptop has is that the backlit screen blew out, so it is very difficult to see the screen. but i suppose you could use the vga hookup and output to monitor for a fully functional pc. what would you do?

Put it on ebay and state the truth, as well as saying it's AS-IS.

I have sold lots of broken stuff on Ebay truthfully and have never had an issue.

Put it up on the FS/FT forums first, and if nobody wants it then Ebay it. I say I'd rather make an ATer happy than some random joe on Ebay.

I've sold broken laptops on Ebay, and I've been very truthful about the description and I've never had a problem.

what would you do?

Pull the LCD and replace the backlight. Not to terribly difficult, just a bit time consuming. If you're not up to replacing the CFL, then I'd eBay it as a whole just to make getting rid of it faster.
