Need some recommendations on a case for me.

hey guys,

I gave some thought to what you guys said... about the TT Lanfire and Skull case and Shark looking terrible. I guess you are right. It looks cool at first but if you look closer it isn't so cool.
The case I have really been looking at hard is the Tsunami. I like Coolermaster Wave (master?) also but I decided I actually don't like the styling on the wavemaster as much as I thought. I don't know if i'd buy it or not.

I am just looking for a really GOOD looking case, I think I want black... Just want a good solid case that is sturdy with good features. I will be getting a seperate powersupply, which is also yet to be determined.
At first I liked the open/close door on front but I don't think I want one now. Cooling needs to be good and sound would like not to be really loud (my computer now is SOOO loud). Just a nice clean looking box.

I'm just looking forthe common recommendations aside from what i've read about here... I've seen a lot mentioned but some of the posts are old.

Thanks,
Seth

Thanks trout i'll scope these out. I saw some just black good looking boxy looking cases that I thought looked great but when I got the pics that were closer the fit and finish looked poor. I really can't spend more than 80-110 on a case. Less would be good but I can go to about 110.

I just want to get something that I really like and works out for me. Doesn't everyone though?

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I am looking for a smaller case. I mean normal mobo size but something like a mid tower. I have a Inwin full tower for my old computer and it was a monster to take to LAN parties.
Something the size of the TT Skull case is about what i'd like. Lanboys might be too small not sure but I am looking at em

Well I just don't know. Going to have to look some more. I'll definately let you guys know what i'm going to get before I buy it so you can beat me up on my choice if it is a bad one. I really like the Tsunami and ripoff or not I think it looks better than the wavemaster. I didn't see where it had a removable mobo tray though, that sucks. Plus I know the quality probably isn't the same as the Coolermaster.

Just don't know looking hard at the Lanboy just for weight savings and size but not sure it is my style looks wise

The lanboy IMO is pretty damn sh!tty style wise. Cheesy looking blue plastic front. Lots of plastic. Feels cheap. But it's soooooo light.

Yes, I just took a good look at it. You are right, I don't know what I was thinking. It looks DUMB. But if you are taking it all over the place 3x a week that is cool i guess cause it is light. My computer now weighs seriously like 30lbs AT LEAST... it is a heavy bish. I am not a lazy arse or fat either so I can carry some extra weight but i'd like to keep it under 20 if possible heh

So guess i'm looking at the Tsunami again. I am concerned about how people say it scratched and prints easily. I go to game at least once a month or two times (I will be going more when I can actually place something besides half life 1 at 800x600) and i'm worried about the scratched. I have to put it on the back seat of my Jeep wrangler. I hate to get something nice and then have it get all beat up looking. Now if it was just sitting always and never got moved I wouldnt' worry

Guess i'll keep looking... let me know if you think of any that you think might fit me

Just go with the tsunami. All aluminum scratches easily and it's hard for paint to adhere to practically any aluminum surface. As for fingerprints, a quick wipe with Windex would work.

trout,

I might do that. Even though i'm not a fan of side windows with a ton of lights, the accent light on the tsunami looks great with black. I might even get a clear side window that way I can get the ASUS V9999 6800 Ultra deluxe that has the single slot cooler with blue LED's on it. Give it a bluish glow...

I know people bash the thermaltake and think the coolermaster wavemaster is better. It might be quality wise but in my opinion the Tsunami is more pleasing visually.

I just got the ahanix black knight, because of dual 120mm fans, steel, black, 6 spd fan controller, and front lcd 3 probe temp display. doesnt have window, but I am like you in that I dont care for lights coming out of my computer, I like to play games and watch movies in the dark.

Dealsonic has it for like 50 bucks shipped I believe, I got for 45 shipped, because of coupon at jumpondeals.com.

Overall seems like sweet case for the money, have yet to plug it in and set up computer on it, as I am waiting for mobo and PSU.

Lian-Li makes some really nice mid-towers for right around you price point. You could add some handles to tote it around. Check newegg. They have good prices and cheap, quick shipping.

TheTsunami is a kick ass CASE. I have one. The stock fans ( thermaltake ) are kinda loud so I replaced them with coolermasters. The down thing is it is hard to put in powersupply because of the usb module on the top of the case. Other than that very pleased.

Wow that black knight is that cheap. That looks like a killer case for the money.

That Kingwin case is actually one I could use. It isn't quite as bland as the Lian Li cases but still is simple.
Anyone have anymore experience with the Ahanix Black Knight? i can't believe it is that cheap.

thanks again everyone...

Tsunami is good. Anandtech is the only site that rated it that low (even though they still rated it pretty high) and i've read a lot of them (i had too, i wanted to make sure i was getting something good for $120!).
