Apple ear buds suck balls, so uncomfortable. Im looking for some good ear buds with the comfortable silicon tips. I know Bose and Klipsch make some really nice ones, but Im not looking to spend more than ~$50. I see alot of different onces that meet my requirements on newegg and amazon, but a lot of them are companies that I have never heard of.

I recommend Shure E2C's. Above your $50 limit, but cheaper than Bose or Klipsch (and better reviews than the Bose, and the same ratings by users as the Klipsch)

http://www.amazon.com/Shure-E2...arphones/dp/B0000CE1UO

Read some of the reviews, but generally people like them. About the only annoying problem with them is that they are so sound isolating that you can't hear much of anything with them on. But the sound is crisp and clear, the fit in my ear is excellent (and it ships with a bunch of tips for different ears), and they are generally pretty comfortable.

Thanks for the link astroidea.

PM, those look great, Im going to consider those. They are exactly what I am looking for, I like that they sit completely in the ear and nothing is sticking out.

shure definitely makes some of the best earphones, and have been one of the earliest players. E2C was one of the first and only IEMs(in-ear-monitors) to fall under the $100 price range for a long time. For a while, they were the only choice on a budget IEM.
Now the DAP market has exploded, and so has the IEM market.
I think there are a lot of other great competitors to the shure now, many at a lower cost.
I personally owned the E2C. They're decent phones, except for the highs, which sounds a bit hacked off at the top. There's a mod on headfi though, that people have greatly improved that. Mostly by cutting the stem so it's shorter, to eliminate that tunnel sound that's signature to the E2C.

OP: what kind of music do you listen to? different earphones have different sound signatures.

I listen to a pretty broad range; rap, hip hop, alternative, rock, and a little trance/dance.

I think Im pretty set on those E2C's.

These were $50 a month ago but have all recently been under a fire sale with the Sennheiser promo. They're the best earbuds I've ever used, might be able to find better but you'll pay $100 or more. Sennheiser also makes incredible headphones.

This. Great cans for the price and @$9.99 they are as good as free!

I just bought these at Newegg. The rebate asks for a copy of the original sales receipt. What would that be? What I see at Newegg's page is the order confirmation, printer friendly. Would that work for the rebate? Or is the receipt they'd accept going to be in the package? Also, who will the shipper be? I'm thinking UPS. I'm in N. California.

the shure e2c's have been discontinued for a while. it's been replaced by the se110 model that's suppose to be equivalent/slightly better.
