Sorry to be a thread digger, but I just came across this thread and it contained some excellent info, especially since I own an FSP Epsilon 600W. I still think it's a good PSU, but perhaps not as good as I previously thought it to be. But heck, it's much cheaper than comparable 600W PSUs, so I guess I got what I paid for.
Anyway, I'd like to ask what's the difference between a load tester and a low draw system? I have some basic knowledge of electronics and I've used o-scopes and logic analyzers before, but I've never tested PSUs so forgive my noob questions. Why does it take a load tester to test ripple at the load, and does the PWM smooth out the voltage and get rid(or reduce) the ripple?
Also, jonnyguru, did you ever contact OCZ or FSP to report your findings and for them to possibly address the problems?
