Need some music recommendations for all genres

I find myself listening to about 6 hours of music a day at work. Normally I find music over time, an album or track here or there, but I'm exhausting my Zune and CD collection now and Pandora/TuneIn isn't cutting it.

My problem is that I like a lot of genres. Classical, classic rock, alternative rock, pop from every decade, hip hop, power metal, world music, electronica, country, new age, and pretty much every genre within soundtrack music or featuring very talented vocalists. Basically, I love music and there are very few genres that I avoid completely.
The problem is that I find it hard to weed out "the best of the best" in each genre, because generally that's what I like. Most of the music I like and own is fairly popular within its genre, and there are very few obscure bands or artists that I listen to. I don't do that on purpose - usually I listen to music first and only discover later whether or not it's currently popular.

So, ATOT, please help help me out. Recommend a few albums in any genre or multiple genres. It doesn't matter if it's new music or old, just something that's considered very good. I prefer to listen to whole albums as opposed to singles, though, as it's easier to make a playlist for a day.

I used to have a much larger collection, but that was several years ago in high school when I used to (illegally) download music. I'm strictly legit now, and there's a lot more I want to add. Here's what I currently have on my PC (minus a lot of the classical, which I've been listening to on YouTube from recommendations in the classical music thread(s)):

I pretty much listen to exclusively electronic music. Currently enjoying

Orbital: Wonky - This is a brand new album from one of the oldest electronic bands there is. It's really good as well.

Hudson Mohawk: Butter - A couple of years old but it still sounds really fresh each time I listen to it, maybe because there's nothing else that sounds like this.

My 3 favorite albums:

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin
The Avalanches - Since I Left You

I won't post any youtube videos because the quality doesn't do them justice. And they are albums in the truest sense, recommending just one song wouldn't work.

You're exactly right, I love both artists but don't have them in my collection at the moment - need to redownload.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, going to download everything posted thus far :)

Edit: listening to some Orbital right now. Its pretty good. Liking the artful sampling.

The Black Keys. The Strokes. Also I noticed a fair bit of Talib Kweli but no 'Train of Thought' or 'Black Star'?

The Roots latest album Undun, it even has a couple really smooth non hip-hop tracks on it.
The John Legend & Roots collaboration album's great too. Very soulful and old school sounding.
Robin Thicke's Love After War

Gave this a listen after I saw your posts in the "What are you listening to" thread. Good stuff.

Yeah I really like it. Pretty straightforward electro-pop or whatever you call it, but catchy and singable.
