Need some Mac user's help

Hi all,

I've got a bit of a problem trying to print from a Mac. Everything has been working fine until today. A user was trying to print a Word document to an HP Laserjet 4600 that is a network printer. They got an error saying that "Word cannot print because there is a problem with the current printer." I tried several other apps like Excel and TextEdit and they give an error too when trying to print.

I can, however, print a test page when I go to the CUPS admin interface (localhost:631). I tried deleting the printer from the Printer Setup utility and then readding it but that didn't work. I tired pinging the printer as well and I do get a reply back from it.

I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Problem solved. If anyone's interested I had to repair the drive's permissions using the Disk Utility. Rebooted, then reinstalled the printer and it worked fine.

That fixes tons of weird errors for macs. From my experience the disk utility needs to be ran pretty frequently due to oddities like this. I do like the OS however
