Join the army or the marines.. your life could get interesting quickly.. Or become a hippie and just smoke your life away.. it might "seem" that you dont' have a life to other people, but I'm pretty sure the drugs will make you happy... and time flies fairly quick if you're happy.

Personally, I would join the armed forces.... the hippie thing... while, it has worked for some.. it however seems like a waste to me..

If you you really need to crave some excitement.. go up to a cop and punch him in the stomach -- instant excitement :) hahahah

'rents would be my guess. Living at home.

Isn't the Peace Corps a viable option?

He's an adult, the 'rents should be charging some rent. And if they are good 'rents, they should have made him get a job or go to school. Who let's their "adult" son live at home with them and not work?

I've got the blahs lately. I want to start doing something with my life. I have no big interests, hobbies, or a strong determination to do anything though. I've been thinking about what I want to do with my life the past 5 or 6 years and can't come up with anything. Is there someplace I can look to try and get some ideas? Books, websites, anything?

I'm 21, Male, and live in Tucson AZ. The tricky part is I have no education and no job. If I did get a job it would have to be something I like, maybe even a life-changing type job. I want to live in a different place, not a different city or state necessarily, just a different place to live on my own. An apartment or something, I dunno. I need a change of scenery. Something other than Baghdad would be nice.

I really want to get my life started, i've been stuck in this rut for much too long. All I know is I don't want to live a normal kind of life working a 9-5 job until I'm 70 years old and retiring. I could get my GED and try and go to college but I still wouldn't have any idea what I'd want to do career wise. This isn't really about finding a job/career, but rather about finding a life to live in general. I'm doing a whole lot of nothing on a daily basis. I find ways to keep busy, but nothing interesting and nothing I like a whole lot. Where can I look to maybe get some ideas ?

No destructive replies please :D

Let's see you're 21 w/o a High School Diploma...

what do you do now?

do you work?

where do you live? at home with your parents?

who pays your bills?

more info pls!

Destructive replies FTL :p - I'm not going to argue anything, just help a guy out :) - Making fun of my life won't help. I'm looking into GED/School/Career stuff today.

I was thinking the same thing. I looked, apparently they want a degree or some sort of work experience. Go figure.

How about you get a job like the rest of us average folks? It isn't all that life changing, but then again, at least you can get out of your parents basement.

Join the navy or air force, not much danger of going to Baghdad with that. Or, if you really want a life changing experience, go join the French Foreign Legion. :)

You say you want to do something you like? Well, what do you like?

Uh... parents?

You can just sit and relax for the next 40 years. By then the technology to transfer your consciousness to a computer will be available thus perpetually extending your existence in an environment infinitely capapable of satisfying your every wish. For this reason, anything you do during your biological existence will be insignificant.

However, you can instead choose to get it together and help the world achieve this very goal. This would be the favorable option. You have to keep in mind that if a hundred years from now someone asks you what you did in the days when people worked, you wouldn't have to cower away and make up stories because you wasted 40 years of valuable time. Working for the next few decades is a small price to pay for the benefit of saying you contributed in the eons ahead.

Military is the only way.

You have no drive and no disclipine to become driven. The military will change that, well let me rephrase that, the Army or Marines will change that.

They will teach you to have a purpose in life and will help you gain maturity and self esteem.

There's a book you should try reading. It's been on the bestseller lists for a long time, has sold millions of copies, and has changed more lives than any other book on the planet. It will lead you to success and true happiness.

The big book of boobs? That's hardly the appropriate suggestion for a guy in his position. Maybe when he has some cash to spare :)
