This chip runs 928(9x100 +2.5%turbo) at 1.65v perfectly stable. Have to jump to 1.9v to load Windows at 1008 (9X112). Ran Stability test for about 1-1/2 hours then blue screen. Don't really want to up the voltage any more if I don't have to. Using Alpha PEP66 w/ Arctic Silver paste on Abit BH6 w/ Abit Slotket!!! set to Coppermine and auto voltage with good case cooling. With the BH6, I can't monitor the chip temp but case temp never goes above 28C. Using PC100 memory set to 3-3-3. This memory runs perfectly at 103@928 at 2-2-2. Will burning in at 928 1.9v help any? Any ideas would be appreciated.

sorrie not here to offer solutions but have a question for you.

i am overclocking a C600 using abit bh6 and abit slotket as well. have managed to make it go to 900 without any problems. (at 1.7v)

what's that 2.5% turbo you mentioned? amd the alpha pep66? i am using the cpu fan that came with the cpu. do you think i can push the cpu to even higher speeds with my current configuration?

another thing. how did you overclock your memory?

thanks!

The turbo is a selection in the SoftMenu bios that is only available if running at 66 or 100 bus speed. When enabled, it adds 2.5% to the bus speed effectively making the 100 bus speed 103. The Alpha PEP66 is an awesome HSF made mostly for cpu's running in slockets. It has copper inlaid into the base for better heat transfer. It is available from many vendors on the net. I'm not sure how high your chip can run but i have seen a number of people who have gotten a gig out of their 600's. My memory isn't overclocked. What I meant was when running at 9 x 103(928) my memory settings were 2-2-2. Any other questions, just ask!

WharpedFactor, try setting the voltage from on the slocket not bios to 1.75-1.8V to see if that helps you along further.

Bacillus,
Are you saying I should leave the voltage in the bios set to default when I set the slotket to 1.8v? How much difference can this make if I'm already feeding it 1.9v through the bios? Thanks!

WharpedFactor: i simply cannot find the turbo setting in my softmenu bios. where can i find it? i am using user define clock speed right now, setting it to 100 * 9. i can't find 900 amongst one of those predefined speeds.

thanks!

I believe is is directly under the FSB selection and called (I think)turbo frequency . Choices are enabled and disabled. Enabled will add +2.5% to FSB. Basically, this makes the 900 run at 928. I didn't need any extra voltage for this setting either so it was 28 free FSB.

I got a question. I have been trying to overclock my Celeron 667. So far I can't get it to boot above 752 Mhz. I have tried higher voltages but I don't think that is the problem. I also have an abit slotkit. Should I set it to Coopermine to get it to work at higher speeds.
