Hello,

Is this any good for keeping the air cool in my ATX 300W tower. http://www.pchertz.com/fc2000.html

Or are there any better system fans??? Which ones are good cause now I dont use a system fan, never have actually.
But now I am sorta obligated to do so because of my new super heat generator (thunderbird 1.33Ghz).
Checkout my system and tell me what you think.
My temperature from my processor is getting temperatures of up to 69C in idle mode.

Greetings.

69C is way too high of an IDLE Temp. Should be in the 40'sC You need more cooling for sure. That fans looks fine. You also want to make sure you have one intake fan in the front of your case as well as 1 exhaust fan on the back of your case. You can add more as well. Even after adding the case fans you may be running too hot. You may want to remove your HSF and reapply your thermal compound very lightly on the heatsink and reattach the heatsink. If you applied too much compund you should remove some of it. Less ibetter when dealing with thermal compound.

How much was the ASUS Geforce3??

Wow, 69,, I use those slot cooler, even though it's not that fast, next to an AGP slot, it makes a big difference....

as hokahknow said, reply thermal grease... I had computer that came w/o thermal grease hit 155°F / 50-55°C and after thermal grease, went down to 90-100°F ~32-33C. Also if you can get an external probe to check the heatsink, see if the heatsink is as hot as the program or BIOS, to check if it's absorbing the heat or not... radio shack, cheap one 10-15 bucks...

you can also strap 2 high speed fan on the heatsink.. takes up room but works..

Hello,

My geforce 3 was 60C and the DDR ram was 54C, smartdoctor told me this was OK for my card.

Greets, gonna buy these fans today.
Tomorrow I will return my comp to the store and let them see for themselves and try to solve this problem

Thanks for these hints and advice guys, hope it will work.
Gonna apply some new paste and add some systemfans, one below my Geforce(PCI fan) and one in front of my case.

been thinking about getting some Coolermasters also for my harddisks.

Greetings

Hey if your gonna buy a fan like that I would buy it from some other place than PCHertz. The price is more than they charged me for one at Best Buy. PCHertz is located in my town and I go there sometimes, but they don't have a very good rating at resellerratings. I think at Best Buy I got it for $14.The only thing that I don't like about mine is that it takes up a PCI slot and I only have 4.
