i'm helping a friend upgrade his sony vaio pc. i popped the cover and saw p2b-ae right away on the board. however, when i tried to track down the board specs to see what the upgrade limits were on the bios, ram, cpu etc. i ran into a dead end. i tried sony and motherboard.org and a bunch of other vaio and asus communities but i came up empty. can anyone point me to a site that has the specs on this board? the board is a relic, however it is an asus, so i thought it might be worth it to see what could be done for it. thanks all 🙂
 
Unfortunately Vaios are generally idiot-proofed for us dumbed-down Americans--difficult to get any deep tech info. Go to VaioVillage for forums where you might get some questions answered.
If you would give more info when you post a question, it would save a lot of time for those of us that might try to answer. The model number of the Vaio, the processor type and speed and whether the video and audio are on-board or on cards would be good. I had no trouble finding updated BIOSes and drivers for old Vaios (however none real recent--one BIOS was last updated in '98) and other stuff such as a picture of the P2B-AE mobo, but the text was in Japanese... but you could read the mobo markings in the photos.
