Hi just put together a new rig with a DFI Ultra-D board, 3700+ San Diego and 2x1GB of OCZ Platinum EL.

I can't get anything better then 2.6 out of the overclock, i have tried quite a few things, i tried setting the mem frequency to 133, it still doesn't help. I need any suggestions, i thought i would get at least 2.8 out of this/

My temps are great by the way 31c at idle.

My setting are as follows...

FSB Bus Frequency: 260
LDT/FSB Ratio: 3x
CPU/FSB Ratio: x10
CPU Vid StartUp Value: StartUp

CPU VID Control: 1.550v
CPU VID Special Control: Auto
LDT Voltage Control: 1.20v
Chip Set Voltage Control: 1.50v
DRAM Voltage Control: 2.90v

DRAM Frequency Set (Mhz): 166
Command Per Clock (CPC): Enable
CAS Latency Control (Tcl): 2.5
RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd): 04
Min RAS# active time (Tras): 06
Row precharge time (Trp): 03
Row cycle time (Trc): 7
Row refresh cyc time (Trfc): 16
Row to Row delay (Trrd): 02
Write recovery time (Twr): 02
Write to Read delay (Twtr): 02
Read to Write delay (Trwt): 02 (03 can increase
stability)
Refresh period (Tref): 4708
Write CAS Latency (Twcl): Auto
DRAM Bank Interleave: Enabled

DQS Skew Control: Auto
DQS Skew Value: 0
DRAM Drive Strength: Level 7 (Auto can increase
stability)
DRAM Data Drive Strength: Level 2
Max Async Latency: 08.0 ns (09.0 ns can increase
stability)
Read Preamble Time: 05.0 ns
IdleCycle Limit: 016
Dynamic Counter: Disable
R/Q Queue Bypass: 16X
Bypass Max: 07X
32 Byte Ganularity: Disable(8 Bursts)

CAS could be loosened up to 3 (I've found on my 3000+ that I can get an extra 100mhz by fully loosing up my memory timings, not that I keep it like that).

If you're feeling brave try 1.60 voltage on your cpu.

Have you tried 255x11, with memory at 166? Those are the settings I use with the 3700+. It runs my memory a bit under 200 but it gives you 2805 on the CPU. But I can also run 280x10, so this may not help, but worth a try

Couple things, what psu?
Have you looked at this ram guide (some of your ram timings further down the list seem a little tight)? http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11397
Is memtest having any errors at those timings (after an hour of looping or so)?
Are you able to post at anything higher than 2.6 (if not you might increase your cpu startup vid)?
What are you using to stress test and what tests are failing at what speeds?

Its not a ram issue. Must be the processor..... Try taking the autos off of the vid control. 104% should give the CPU enough volts.

I'm running a 3700+ Sandie on an EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra and can't get more than 2.4 out of it. Did you just buy yours? I got mine at newegg... I've narrowed it down to either the PSU or the CPU.... Gonna try a different PSU soon.

It's not the PSU, I have tested it, everything is true to what it should be. I am running an Antec TruePower 550. I may have just gotten a San Diego that will only run 2.6 and nothing more, sucks if that's the case.

I'm at 2.5 now. Had to move RAM timings from 1T to 2T to go from 2.4 to 2.5..... Still can't go much higher. And Prime95 fails instantly still, but SuperPi passes the 32M test.

I've also noticed that the other RAM timings are super sensitive.... something you should look at too.

Loosen up your RAM fully.

That means 3-4-4-8.
And run at 100 (or 2:1) divider till you are certain you've found your max CPU.

Also, wtf is up with people who have an 11* multi using the 10* multi

The higher the HTT, the more stress you put on things. So till you've found the max CPU, use that 11* multi that you have.

Now i know with DFI, you should be able to hit a high HTT, but i've noticed on my mobo that just cause you can run at high HTTs when running at lower speeds doesn't mean it will work at higher speeds.

I did now manage to get 2.73 stable by changing my CPU Vid Startup to 104% and changing my multiplier to 10.5.

I tried to loosen up my memory timings, this did not help.

I am wondering if 1.57 volts to my processor is ok, that's what it reads in bios.

Can I push the processor to more then the 1.57 or am I just gonna fry it??

Can I push my memory to more then the 2.9 volts, or will that toast it????
