Need some help

I've posted this message in a few other threads with no avail but I really do need some help:


Being a complete dork today I opened my mail box and been getting a ton of messages lately w/ file attachments which are those viruses going around. Anyways I accidently open one thinking it was from a friend I know and next thing I know every time I try to run an application it says:


Program Not Found

Windows cannot find qidt".exe


Thus I am just stuck in windows...please help, can't open email, AV, anything, I am on another comp typing this up


managed to get into DOS and running Virus scan now..

Did you have your AV software setup to scan emails for virus'? Do you keep your AV anti-virus files up to date?

If not, it sounds like you probably got hit with a virus. Check your av software site to see if they have any specific "cleaners" for that virus, and how to clean it from your system.

Diconnect the PC from the Network and Internet. No need to spread the virus if you were infected, although it may be to late.

Let us know the results of the scan, but it doesn't sound good.

Virus scan showed up nothing w/ a update last week. Actually went to dos and did a scanreg command and went to a backed up version and everything is good so I am set now, thanks anyways
