I have a Globalwin CAK38 on the way, and this is my first time messing with a Tbird. I know AMD recommends 300 grams, so yes the CAK38 is a little on the heavy side, but what Im wondering is, does it come with a thermal pad, and or should I get AS II? I probably won't be doing any overclocking, atleast not for awhile.

It will probably come with either thermal grease or a thermal pad. AS2 will only lower the temp a noticable amount if the HS surface is rough (eg Volcano 2) but as this is all copper it shouldn't be a problem. Get AS2 if you want to do oc'ing because any temp drop is good.

Cheers

Of course you need to buy artic silver II + also you need to buy a very special PSO like Enermax on 431W and if you a graphic card like Geforce you probably need something ?powerful.

If you get an authorized powersupply for the rated processor you will be just fine. A good 300watt is all you will need, unless you have a ton of drives.
