Need some help

My cdrom went belly up. Needless to sday I am now looking for a new cdrom. I need to hear from some folks about the following drives if they have used them.

Plextor px-40tsi
Toshiba SD-M1401 (I know a DVD drive)
Toshiba XM6401B-S

Or any other drives that are good...

If God were shopping for a CD-ROM, he would choose Plextor.

Toshiba comes in second. I have one of their older DVD's (5X) and it is rock-solid reliable.
But, I have Plextor CD-RW and CD-ROM in my main system and I have never seen anything better.

That has been the general gist of what I have managed to find in reviews online. I just wanted to get some feedback from people who have used the drive fors for more than a week to do some testing.

Plextor all the way. Had no problems with the 40x SCSI version in 8 months of daily use. It hasn't had trouble reading any CDR or CDRW media, even though some CDs looked as though a car had driven over them 😉
