Need some help...

I have a friend who has a k7v mobo and an 800 athlon processor...
we started to put everything together and got to the time in which we test it out...
to make a long story short, the processer is very loose even with the CSR clips and it will boot up for about 3 seconds and then shut off...
if we remove the processor however, it boots up however, we usually shut it off after 10 seconds cos we don't want it to start detecting anything...
we've tried multiple combinations of ram, but that isn't it either...

any suggestions?

we thought either he needed a new processer or it might be a jumper issue...

Not good when the processor is loose...Does this processor sit vertical on the board? If it does what I does is take 2 twist ties off some bread bags.

Then I figure out a way where I can loop it around the edge of the processor and put the two "tag" ends through the holes on the CPU Retention bracket.

Then I use a pliers and carefully twist the ties which will firmly seat your processor.
