Need some help with wireless network setup

I have a D-Link 624 wireless router and I have a DWL-G800AP repeater to extend the range. I have a PC with a DWL-G520 PCI Nic. I can see the networks and I am connecting, and it appears that data is being sent to the network, but I cannot receive any data.

I did check and flash the firmware on the devices so they are current.

I am showing that I am connected I just cannot access the internet. All my settings seem to match.

I could use some assistance as Dlink online knowledgebase seems useless.

TIA.

What it means you are connected?

Did you Client card obtain an IP?

If you just see a presence of signal that does not mean that your are configured correctly and connected.

I would start first with the client computer near the source and No repeater.

Link to: Wireless - Basic Configuration.

When it works locally, then remove the client to its destination, and configure the Repeater.

The Repeater has to associate with the Wireless Router through the Router?s MAC number.

Jack,

thanks for the information.

I unplugged the repeater and I did get it to work fine. I will try the router again tomorrow because I am very tired tonight.
