need some help with USB ZIP250

Here's my problem: I have a secondary athlon running at ASUS A7V motherboard. So far every USB device that I've used with the board has worked perfectly. However, I have a USB zip250 that refuses to work well with this system. I have tried installing the iomega drivers, switching usb ports (the A7V has 5), and I've even tried uninstalling all traces of the zip drive in safe mode and then reinstalling it. The weird part is that if I boot into safe mode the zip drive works perfectly! It just doesn't want to work in standard windows mode. PLEASE help me, I cannot find the above problem mentioned on iomega's website. BTW, I'm running win2k.
