my laptop company doesnt have a chipset driver for vista, however my laptop does have a sticker on it that says "windows vista capable" so i dont see how it could be a problem.
i'm using an amd turion 64 (ML-32).. only reason i'm asking is because my computer is lagging but i have all the other drivers installed... i also cannot seem to find a serial ata controller driver.. is this neccisary/is this part of the chipset driver?
there is a driver missing.... listed in device manager as "mass storage controller" - i wasnt sure if this was for my usb thumb drive or for the hdd controller
i remember with via chipsets in windows XP... there was a Via 4-in-1 driver that took care of all of these drivers in one shot... I can't find a similar via 4-in-1 driver for vista. does anyone know of one/ does one even exist?
if it matters, i'm using an Averatec 2260-EY1 laptop.
--------------------***EDIT- EXTRA INFO on my computer specs***---------------
i figure it could be the chipset, as i feel my hardware decent enough to run, especially since im not even using aero glass in vista.
1.8ghz turion 64
1gb ddr ram
80gb 5400 hdd
some not so great integrated 128mb agp S3 branded video card
i mean it runs ok, but i feel like it should be running at least slightly better... mainly just that when i open on my computer it opens within 3 seconds, but i see the top half of the window within the first second, then the rest of the window fills in on the screen within the next second or two... and its not just my my computer window searching for drives or something... this happens when any folder i open as well or even small programs like microsoft word or internet explorer.
