Hi everyone.
I currently have a Cable modem connected to a wired Linksys 10/100 router that has several devices connected downstream (VoIP modem, 10/100 switch, multiple PCs all networked).
I am thinking about buying an Apple iPod Touch, mainly for its robust features and WiFi capabilities. That makes syncing to Google calendar very easy especially in hot spots, but I do not have a way to use WiFi at home.
I am interested in setting up a highly secure WiFi access point at home. Is there a primer on how to do this in conjunction with my wired network? I do not want to get rid of my wired devices and wired network, but I do not want to open up my network to potential hackers or war drivers that may be able to bust through the WAP protection. So how would I go about setting up WiFi in parallel to my wired network, but keep the WiFi access extremely limited (just enough for my WiFi devices to sync to the Internet and not access my LAN)? Does this make any sense? Thanks in advance!
