Need some help with Russian... or any language

Hi,

I am trying to type a Russian document in Word (Office XP) and was wondering how to go about doing it... I can view pages with Russian letters fine (Google Groups for example) so I assume I have support for Russian characters. I tried the Tools > Language > Set Language but that isn't working 🙁

Do I have to set up something in Control Panel?

I assume the same instructions for other languages.

You need to install the phonetic russian keyboard software from here. It might also be just easier/faster to type in transliterated english characters and have a webpage convert the translit to cyrillic characters.

This is a function not of Office but of the OS. In Win98, you go to Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup tab, and install "Multi-language support". Don't know how it works in XP, but presumably if Win98 shipped w/this then XP does as well.
