Need some help with formatting

I'm want to install Win2K on an old Compaq Armada m700 laptop. Basically I accidently installed Win2k already without formatting, but I need want to format the drive.

Well, I hoped that the install would have a Format option, but the windows 2000 setup doesn't ahve one. So how can I format the drive?
my problem is that the laptop can have a floppy or a CD inside, and I don't think you can switch while the laptop is on

BTW my bios is set to CD/floppy and then HD, but for some reason the HD runs and not the setup (I ran the setup from windows->run CD->win2kPro setup on that F8 list. Is this the usual way with Win2k?

So basically what I need to know is how to format the HD (NTFS) and then how to install windows 2000.

I know this is a bit noobish, but I've only installed win98 and win XP machines...

Agree. ANy old boot disk (get a 98 disk from bootdisk.com) and then fdisk the drive and delete everything. THen it can't boot from the drive even if it wants to.
