I need some help guys.

I put all the pieces together, started up the computer, it loaded the default drivers for windows. I then attempted to load the cat 3.10, Black screen. I then rebooted in safe mode, and went to the grahics drivers, and it showed the 9600pro as a loaded secondary card. I also noticed in the device manager that it had the vga controller in the yellow exclamation. I loaded the via gart driver, and the windows would load up, but then all the colors, and boxes started to blend. I quickly unloaded the gart, and the video drivers, and now am back to the windows drivers. This is the last thing I need to do to get this system cranking, and would appreciate any feedback. Should I uninstall that vga controller? I saw on the ati site that this card has troubles with gart drivers, if on a non-intel chipset. Should I try a different card? Has anybody had troubles with the sapphire 9600pro? I know there are lots of guys that have setup new systems like this, so if nothing else tell me what you did to set it up. The MB is newer than the video card, so I would think the bios should accept the new drivers, but am at a standstill.

I had a sapphire 9600 pro and had lots of setup problems, which was a shame as eventually it was a great card. You should download the latest drivers cat 3.9's then before installing You should download drivercleaner and check that all previous drivers (ati or nvdia) are removed, just in case boot into safemode when you do this. Then I would re start and install the driver.

If your starting from scratch i.e. new install I found that you needed to install in this precise order;

All motherboard drivers (i.e. intel, nforce or vial 3in1) so that the agp bus is correctly configured.
Any other driver e.g. sound card
Latest Cat 3.9's
Directx 9.0

Now go inot graphics card properties and disable fast writes and knock agp transfer rate down to 4x

Then run something like 3dmark 2003 to check its all ok (you should get circa 3300)
