Need some help setting up my first WAN

No Lifer
So I just installed the card on my mom's PC upstairs and the wireless router is downstairs. I have wireless network enabled on the router and pretty much all the default stuff on my router is set. I don't really have any security right now because I'm trying to just get this working.

When I scan on the computer upstairs it is not picking up anything at all.

I have the wrt54g router that i'm trying to use. Please, any help is appreciated and I can answer more questions if you have questions.
 
Thanks for the link. Now where is the WZC thingie so i can check if its trying to use it or not, because i still can't get a connection. Even when I scan from the wireless PC it isn't picking up on it.
 
Looks like Jack's got you covered. Just for the record WAN is Wide Area Network. What your doing is still a LAN, local area network You can use WLAN for Wireless Local Area Network. Just an FYI.
