Need some help setting up dual boot

I'm trying to dual boot Win2K Pro and RH7.1. I've got Partition Magic 7 and have merged my 2 old Win partitions to one 15GB partition. Now I have 5GB of unformatted space. Using disk druid, how do I setup my Linux partitions? I went in once and tried to create a 1024MB swap and the rest to /, but it gave an error and quit (something about 1024 cylinders). Then I tried the same thing with 512MB swap and the rest to /. Gave the same error. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

The error is saying the / partition is in error because it's more than 1024 cylinders. How can this be?

I got it straight and installed 7.1. Now when I boot it goes straight into RH and doesn't give a choice of Win. How can I get back into Windows?

Edit /etc/lilo.conf. After adding the Windows info, run /sbin/lilo as root and reboot.

After I rebooted from the install (as I was typing my last message) the system hung while booting into RH. So I can't even get into either OS. Right now, I just want to get back into Windows. I'll worry about RH later. Any ideas? Should I just boot into Partition Magic and delete the RH partitions and give the space back to the Win partition?

<< Let me try that quick. Thanks for your help man, this is driving me nuts😉 >>

Computers suck. I hate them. 😉

For some reason it won't boot from the CD. It gives a system disk error and asks for a new one. So I put in a Win95 floppy but it won't even let me switch to C or D drive.

No I sure don't. Is there anything I can do with Partition Magic or is there some DOS commands I can use to boot into my Win partition?

<< Try the format /mbr. I dont know if you need to be on the C: drive when you do it. >>

I have. On all the drives😉

<< I could use myt Win2K boot disk and repair the currnet install. Would that do the trick? >>

It should. Cant tell you for sure since I never left Win2k on my machines long enough to learn anything.

Ok, I got it to "see" Windows again but I'm getting a BSOD. It says "Inaccessible_Boot_Device" I think I f00ked mt HHD. Do you have any idea? Oh well, guess Ilearned a valuable lesson tonight. Don't fool around with OSs.

VIA chipset? Thats the error I got when using Windows 2k with sp2 and didnt have the proper via drivers installed or something.

<< Yeah it's the KT266A but I did install all of the drivers. What do you think I should do now? Reinstall? >>

Do a search on the forums, someone may have a fix for it. I always had to reinstall 🙁
