Need some help please!

I have an AKAI MPC2000XL and am trying to switch out the floppy drive and install a ZIP drive. If yo udont know what an AKAI is, please read on as the question is semi computer related.

I need to make my own cable to convert the power from a floppy connector to an IDE connector. i have no idea about how to do it, any info would be MUCH appreciated!

you need something like a molex connector but i dunno where you would fine one...so bump

thanks for the info.

What i was planning is since i have a broken floppy drive with the power connector off of it, i was going to chop up a power supply and make my own connector. if i keep the cables correctly lined up, will everything be fine?

Digikey one of the best online sources for electronic components. WARNING: there is lots of stuff.

as for our questions about keeping the colors the same, yes. orange/yellow = +12V. red = +5V, black = GND. that's all there is to it. just make sure you do a good job of soldering and use e tape.
